The willingness to change and duty towards one of your own can make happen anything deemed to be impossible.
The residents of Baner-Balewadi areas came together to build an approach road to Vibgyor High School for the convenience of the students behind the Mercedes-Benz showroom alongside the highway on Sunday. The women especially the mothers in the area joined hands to take up the matter involving construction of a 500 metre road following no aid from any of the concerned authorities .
The road embedded with enormous potholes used to attain even more wretched condition during monsoons making it irksome for the vehicles to pass by and especially for the school buses where in the residing children complained of heads bumping time and again. Moreover, the authorities were not taking up the construction project for the last six years because it was stuck in a dispute between Pune Municipal Corporation, Sus Panchayat and Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) authorities. Knocking doors of ministers too didn’t yield any positive results .
This is when the residents united by a WhatsApp group decided to proceed on their own with the Herculean task owing to which they arranged the raw materials, road-levelling machine and participated in the actual work as well. The construction started on Sunday morning around 10 am and continued till late afternoon. The remaining work was followed up on Monday.
According to the localites the road may survive the monsoon this year and are yet hopeful of the authorities to shoulder their responsibilities and willingness to work for the betterment of the society .The women of the area believe that they had to come forward after all it was the ease and safety of their children .
The Logical Indian Community lauds the efforts of the local people who put forth an image of a responsible citizen by taking matter into their own hands for the welfare of the society and at the same time requests the concerned authorities to actively address the grievances of the people.
