Sedans and SUV’s are some of the things which come to mind when you think of diplomats travelling. As a breakaway from the lavish lifestyle, Mexico’s Ambassador to India has chosen an auto-rickshaw over other options. Melba Pria commutes around Delhi in an auto-rickshaw that has Mexico’s flag on it and a diplomatic number plate.

Melba has chosen the CNG auto to do her bit towards safeguarding the environment. But that’s not the only reason she chooses to ride on a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw, she feels this is the easiest way to commute in Delhi. Melba also has an official chauffeur for her auto. The employee named Rajendra Kumar takes Melba everywhere from meetings to functions. As an environmentalist herself, she strongly supports the odd-even formula implemented by the Delhi government.

The Logical Indian lauds Melba Pria for setting an example in safeguarding the environment and humility. Qualities which ought to be emulated by every citizen and diplomats not only in India but around the world.
