This Young IAS Couple Have Decided To Change The Way Marriages Are Done In India

Rs 500 Marriage

It is the trend nowadays to spend a large amount of money in marriages. This once in a lifetime event is planned for extensively, and both the couple and their families look forward to a grand celebration of the event. But an IAS couple are leading the way in proving that they were happy spending just Rs 500 for their wedding.

Graduates of the 2014 IAS cadre Ashish Vashisht and Saloni Sadana fell in love during their training at the Academy of Administration in Mussoorie. Port training, Ashish was posted as an SDM on probation to Gohad, Bhind, Madhya Pradesh, and Saloni was posted to Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh as a Probationary Officer. With distance, their love only grew stronger, and they decided to get married.

Ashish applied with a notice of intended marriage to the Additional District Magistrate (ADM). This was approved on 28 November. Saloni reached Madhya Pradesh and they signed the marriage declaration after garlanding each other.

ADM TN Singh declared them as husband and wife. Illaya Raja also graced the occasion and signed as a witness, as reported by Pradesh 18. A new chapter of their journey has begun.
