Shiju, You can call him conductor with a difference or a people’s conductor. He is leveraging a simple technology for the benefits of passengers. A technology which a lot of us have today i.e Whatsapp. Shiju, 39 year old bus conductor hailing from Thachottukavu Kerala Urban Road Transport Corporation Volvo bus which plies from Neyyatinkara to Technopark uses WhatsApp to create groups and messages everyone in the group on the where about’s of the Bus.

In every bus there are good chunk of regular commuters who take the same bus daily to their office or any location for that matter. These regular commuters are then added to a whatsapp group by conductor Shiju. Through WhatsApp he regularly updates people on where the bus is. In short he is a manual GPS. This helps in commuters to plan their way to the bus stop.
