Chennai: The Intelligence Of A Driver & A Conductor Saved The Life Of A Pregnant Lady Who Was About To Deliver

Want to share an incident which happened today. I got a bus from Tambaram (outer Chennai, an important bus stop for travelers who intend to move in or out of the city in Chennai) to kancheepuram (neighboring district of Chennai) in the evening. A pregnant woman started crying due to severe pain while travelling. (There is no specialized hospital between Padappai village and kancheepuram). Given the situation the driver and conductor responded to it in a very intelligent way.

What driver and conductor did is “Not to stop the bus at any stops” and when they stopped the bus, they stopped it 200 meters away from actual stopping to save time to avoid new passengers. Thereby saving valuable time.

Driver started driving the bus more than 90 KM speed (Felt like ambulance) While conductor requested all passengers be ready to get off from bus at their respective stops. (Mostly 10 Seconds were given for each stop due to prior intimation by conductor)

Meanwhile conductor intimated 108 ambulance service to be ready near Kancheepuram. (Driver reached the ambulance within 40 mins instead of usual 80 mins.)

Hats off to Driver & Conductor who saved two lives at right time.

Even driver didn’t stop bus for police who waited at one of the stop. The young driver and conductor took it up on themselves and became the real heroes.
