Instead Of Spending On A Grand Wedding, This Family Donated Rs 1.7 Lakh For An RO Water Plant To The Village

Maharashtra resident Jayant Bhole and his family have set an example by using the money they would have spent on a wedding to build an RO (reverse osmosis) plant in the village.

Jayant donated Rs 1.7 lakh to Varkhede village in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra on the occasion of his son’s wedding on 11 February. The wedding was conducted without any unnecessary expenditure like calling a band or DJ or bringing horses or burning firecrackers.

They chose to save as much as money possible so that it can be used to help the poor and used this money to set up the RO plant so that the villagers have access to safe drinking water.

“I am a practitioner of Art Of Living. I was highly inspired by the teachings of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and that is what motivated me to take this initiative. We did away with all the unnecessary rituals of marriage, didn’t exchange any money between the two families, and decided to help the villagers. We have already sent the cheque to the RO plant company and it will be installed right sometime next month,” Mr Jayant said to The Logical Indian.

This is not all, Mr Jayant has been regularly helping the villagers of his neighbourhood. We all know about the distressing drought that hit Maharashtra. Mr Jayant had sent five tankers of water to Varkhede.

The Bhole family wants others also to help their villages and neighbours.

The Logical Indian congratulates the newlyweds and appreciates the great initiative by the family.
