While the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel are responsible for maintaining security and safety at industrial undertakings and installations, sometimes the security personnel go out of their line of duty to help those in need.

CISF personnel gives CPR

Swift action, quick thinking and alertness of CISF ASI Mohit Kumar Sharma might have helped in saving the life of Andhra Pradesh resident Satyanarayana Gubbala. The incident, which could’ve turned fatal for Gubbala occurred at the Mumbai Airport on October 26. Reportedly, he was scheduled to fly from Mumbai to Hyderabad, however, after suffering from cardiac arrest, Gubbala collapsed near Terminal 2 of the airport.

In a video posted by ANI, the man can be seen collapsing on the floor. Sharma, one of the screeners along with two other CISF personnel can then be seen rushing in and administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to him till the airport medical team arrived at the spot. According to ANI, he was then shifted to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai and his condition is stable.

The first few minutes after a cardiac arrest are extremely crucial and the CISF personnel with their quick thinking helped in averting a much worse situation. CPR is an emergency procedure which is administered by chest compressions. However, this was certainly not the first time that an as in July, a CISF personnel had, in a similar fashion helped save a US citizen at Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi.

The Logical Indian team commends the efforts of the CISF personnel for their quick thinking and alertness.
