This year-long celebration not only marks the rich history of Indian hockey but also heralds a new era with the relaunch of the HIL after a seven-year hiatus.

A Century of Excellence

As Indian hockey embarks on its 100th year, Hockey India proudly announces a grand celebration dedicated to a century of remarkable achievements. The first national body for hockey was officially formed in Gwalior on November 7, 1925, igniting a journey filled with triumphs that established India as a powerhouse in the sport. Over the decades, India has secured eight Olympic gold medals, along with a silver and four bronze medals, showcasing its dominance on the international stage. The recent resurgence of the Indian men’s team, winning bronze at both the Tokyo 2021 and Paris 2024 Olympics, alongside the women’s team’s impressive fourth-place finish in Tokyo, highlights a bright future for Indian hockey.

This season promises to be thrilling as it introduces the inaugural Women’s Hockey India League, honouring a journey that has inspired generations. The men’s league will run until February 1, 2025, while the women’s tournament will commence on January 12, 2025, concluding on January 26.
