Credible Alternative To Single-Use Plastic, Paper Keeps The Planet Green

The Logical Indian Crew

June 5th, 2019

Call it earth or call it home, it is we who have the power to change it. It is never to underestimate the potential of every individual’s contribution towards a greener planet. At times, to do so, one might need little tweaks in daily lifestyle.

One of the many ways to express our love and gratitude to mother earth is by choosing conscience over convenience. JK Paper with its #GreenHeart aims to initiate a discussion about the environmental impact of single-use plastic and the positive impact of pledging to #SwitchToPaper.

There are all the right reasons to #SwitchToPaper because since it is produced out of wood, it becomes easily biodegradable. Not only this, the recycling of paper is simple, effective and inexpensive. As a result, it eliminates excess landfill and can be turned into multiple products like notebooks, carry bags, packaging cartons etc without putting any untoward pressure of polluting the environment.

It might get a few of us pondering about forest concerns as paper production requires harvesting of trees. Well, to give a quick myth buster, papers are made from specific trees called ‘Subabul’ and ‘Casuarina’ that have a short life span and are grown specifically for this purpose. It’s more like an agricultural crop like vegetables on a farm. Moreover, JK Paper plants five trees for every one tree harvested to ensure a thriving green cycle.

JK Paper, a leading paper company owing to its sustainable ways of production has also been recognised by ‘World Wildlife Fund’ who listed it as a responsible paper company. Staying true to its philosophy of #GreenHeart, the company has carried out an extensive Social Farm Forestry drive where it planted trees in over 1,16,000 Ha of land across states like Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Gujrat, Maharashtra and West Bengal.

As they say, “Change is the only Constant” and it truly makes a lot of us optimistic. It’s the simple ideas well executed that makes a better world. Because green is the new happy!
