Adding another medal to his name, and making the nation proud once again, Indian luger Shiva Keshavan won the silver medal at the 18th Asian Luge Championship at Nagano, Japan on 27 December 2015. The race was closely contested by the Asian athletes.

In the first heat, Shiva was lagging only by 2/10th of a second. In the second heat, though, technical issues cost him the gold medal. In spite of being in a difficult state financially this year, Shiva scored another medal for the country. The first place was retained by Hidenari Kanayama, Japan, and the third place was secured by Dong Hyeon Kim from Korea.

Considered the poster boy for Indian winter sports, Shiva has won two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals at the Asian Championship so far.

Although he was aiming for the gold in this race too, he is hopeful for an even better performance at the 2018 Winter Olympics at Korea. Shiva will continue the season participating in three of the remaining World Cups in Germany, which will conclude with the Homologation of the Olympic Track at Korea. A five time Olympian, going on his sixth, Shiva is the first Indian to compete in luge at the Winter Olympics.

The Logical Indian congratulates Shiva Keshavan on his stellar performance, and wishes him the best to go forth with many more victories.
