She Kept Smiling And Said, ‘I Can’t Wait To Make It Our Home’ And That Is Something I Will Never Forget

“We used to live in the same lane when we were younger and that’s how we first met. I knew I liked her when I first saw her but it was always going to be difficult because she’s Catholic and I’m Parsi. This one day, our families went to Juhu beach and long after every else had come out of the water, we both were still swimming and that’s when everyone realised something’s fishy and her sister confronted us.
I asked her father for her hand in marriage and even though so many of our relatives taunted us and spread rumours about us — I convinced him of my love for her and he agreed. When we first got married we were really young, with no stable income but this woman here has been through it all with me. The happiest memory I have is the look on her face when we entered the first house we bought. She kept smiling and said, ‘I can’t wait to make it our home’ and that’s something I’ll never forget.”
