Satish Nair, a WPP Production veteran with 25 years of industry experience, has been appointed CEO of WPP Production India, succeeding Karthik Nagarajan.
Nair has spent 15 years with WPP Production, formerly known as Hogarth Worldwide, and has held leadership roles across the UK, global and Indian markets.
His appointment brings a familiar face with long experience within the organisation to the top job as WPP Production continues to strengthen its presence in India’s evolving advertising and marketing ecosystem.
Satish Nair Brings 25 Years Experience
Nair’s appointment marks the return of an experienced WPP Production executive to a senior leadership role in the India business. According to industry reports, he brings 25 years of experience in the advertising and marketing industry, including 15 years with WPP Production.
Over his career at the organisation, Nair has worked across multiple markets and held roles spanning business growth, client relationships and production. His experience across different parts of WPP’s international network gives him familiarity with the scale and complexity of managing production operations within a global advertising group.
That institutional knowledge is significant for WPP Production India. As production businesses increasingly work across markets and platforms, leadership experience that combines an understanding of global operations with knowledge of local market requirements can help align the two.
Leadership Transition At WPP
Nair takes over from Karthik Nagarajan, who is moving on from WPP Production to pursue new opportunities.
Nagarajan became CEO of Hogarth India in 2023 and subsequently led the India business through its transition under the WPP Production identity.
His tenure of almost four years placed him at the centre of the company’s India operations during a period when content production became an increasingly important part of the broader advertising and marketing services ecosystem.
His exit now brings a change in leadership, with WPP Production choosing an executive who already has extensive experience within the organisation.
Experience Across Multiple Markets
One of the key aspects of Nair’s appointment is the breadth of his experience within WPP Production. His 15-year association with the organisation has included work across the UK, global operations and India.
That exposure could be relevant as WPP Production manages the increasingly complex demands placed on modern production businesses. Brands today operate across multiple digital and traditional channels, requiring content to be produced and adapted for different audiences and markets.
For production companies, this means balancing global brand consistency with local relevance while managing the scale and speed required by clients. Nair’s experience across different geographies gives him an understanding of these operational requirements from within the WPP network.
India Role Gains New Focus
Nair’s appointment also comes at a time when India’s advertising and marketing industry is becoming an increasingly important market for global agency networks.
For WPP Production India, the leadership transition provides an opportunity to build on the existing business while drawing on the experience of an executive who has spent a substantial part of his career within the organisation.
The immediate priority will be maintaining continuity for clients and teams while setting the direction for the India business under new leadership. Nair’s long association with WPP Production means he enters the role with familiarity with the company’s operations, culture and international network.
The appointment therefore represents a leadership transition built around institutional experience rather than an outside hire. With 25 years in the industry and 15 years within WPP Production, Nair now takes responsibility for the India business at a time when production is becoming an increasingly integrated part of how brands develop and distribute content.
For WPP Production India, the coming phase will show how effectively that experience can be translated into sustained growth, stronger client relationships and a more connected role within WPP’s wider global network.
