AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi fiercely condemned Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir for his recent nuclear threat against India, made during a visit to the United States. Owaisi called Munir a “sadakchaap aadmi” (roadside goon) for issuing such alarming remarks from the soil of a strategic partner of India and demanded a stronger political response from the Modi government beyond the official Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) statement.

He emphasised the urgent need for India to boost its defence budget and preparedness amid persistent threats from Pakistan’s military and its “deep state.” The MEA described Munir’s nuclear sabre-rattling as Pakistan’s typical behaviour and expressed concerns about Pakistan’s nuclear command and its close links with terrorist groups.

Owaisi’s Harsh Criticism and Defence Call

Asaduddin Owaisi, speaking to ANI and on social media platform X, strongly condemned the nuclear threats made by General Asim Munir at an event in Tampa, Florida. Munir had declared that Pakistan was prepared to use nuclear weapons not only against India but also possibly “half the world” if faced with an existential threat. Owaisi criticised the remarks as reckless and unacceptable, especially as they were made on US soil, a country with strategic ties to India.

Calling Munir a “sadakchaap aadmi,” Owaisi urged the Modi government to register a strong political protest with the US and demanded a firmer response rather than only diplomatic statements. Highlighting the ongoing threat from Pakistan’s military establishment, Owaisi stressed that India must modernise and increase its defence spending to maintain security and readiness.

The Pakistan Army Chief’s Threats and MEA’s Response

General Asim Munir, recently promoted as a field marshal, intensified anti-India rhetoric during his second US visit in two months. He threatened to destroy Indian infrastructure and claimed Pakistan’s willingness to escalate to nuclear warfare if its sovereignty or “water rights” were challenged, specifically accusing India of planning dam constructions on the Indus River.

Munir also reiterated Pakistan’s position on Kashmir, terming it “Pakistan’s jugular vein” and an unresolved international dispute. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs issued a sharp statement condemning Munir’s nuclear sabre-rattling as Pakistan’s “stock-in-trade,” expressing serious concern over the instability of Pakistan’s nuclear command structures and the growing nexus between its military and terrorist entities. The MEA reaffirmed India’s commitment to its national security and its refusal to be intimidated by nuclear blackmail.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

The Logical Indian urges that while India’s security and defence capabilities must be strengthened to counter threats, responses should be rooted in strategic diplomacy and multilateral cooperation aimed at de-escalation.

Condemning irresponsible nuclear threats is necessary to uphold global and regional peace, but provocative language risks exacerbating tensions and undermines trust-building efforts between South Asian neighbours. The region’s safety depends on measured policies that combine military preparedness with sincere dialogue and conflict resolution mechanisms.
