The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has exposed a deadly terror conspiracy centred around rocket bomb and drone-based attacks targeting Delhi’s high-security zones, culminating with a car bomb that exploded near the Red Fort on November 10, 2025.
Two key arrests have intensified the investigation: Jasir Bilal Wani and Amir Rashid Ali. Jasir, a technical expert from Jammu and Kashmir, reportedly assisted in modifying drones to deliver rocket-style explosives, tactics inspired by extremist groups like Hamas and ISIS.
Amir Rashid Ali, the car’s registered owner, provided logistical support. The NIA continues to analyse digital evidence and procurement trails to uncover more collaborators and prevent further attacks.
Profiles of the Accused and Alleged Suicide Bomber
Jasir Bilal Wani, alias Danish, from Qazigund, Kashmir, is accused of providing critical technical support for drone modifications and rocket development. He is a close associate of Dr. Umar un Nabi, the alleged suicide bomber who drove the Hyundai i20 that exploded near the Red Fort, killing 13 people and injuring many others.
Dr. Umar, a former medical professor, recorded a chilling video justifying the bombing as a “martyrdom operation,” calling suicide bombing a “misunderstood concept” and a religious duty in Islam. DNA tests confirmed Umar as the driver and bomber.
Amir Rashid Ali, from Pulwama district, Kashmir, is implicated for procuring the blast vehicle. This case reflects alarming recruitment of educated professionals into terror modules with high technical skills.
Broader Context and Ongoing Investigation
The NIA’s probe reveals that terror groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed are increasingly adopting sophisticated technology and recruiting professionals. Forensic teams found explosives and a metallic substance in a shoe at the blast site, indicating a complex bomb triggering mechanism. Multi-agency teams are actively investigating in Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, and other states.
They are tracking communication networks and suspicious procurement patterns to dismantle a wider terror network with potential transnational links. The investigation highlights the growing threat of technological misuse in terror tactics and the necessity for enhanced counter-terrorism measures.
Background: The Red Fort Car Bomb Attack
On the evening of November 10, 2025, a white Hyundai i20 car packed with improvised explosive devices (IEDs) detonated near Delhi’s iconic Red Fort, killing 13 people and injuring several others. CCTV footage showed the car parked adjacent to the Sunehri Masjid for over three hours before the blast, which occurred near a traffic light close to the Red Fort metro station.
The suicide bomber was later identified as Dr. Umar un Nabi, a Pulwama-based medical professional linked to Al-Falah University in Faridabad. Investigations indicate that the blast was the result of a larger, sophisticated terror plot initially aimed at rocket bomb and drone attacks across Delhi’s high-security zones, which was shifted to a car bomb after earlier plans failed.
The Logical Indian’s Perspective
The Logical Indian reiterates its commitment to peace, empathy, and the protection of democratic values. This terror conspiracy underscores the urgent need for vigilant, rights-respecting law enforcement and community engagement to prevent violence.
Strengthening social cohesion and interfaith harmony is critical to building resilience against radicalisation, especially as terror groups advance their use of technology.
