Raghav Chadha works as a Blinkit rider for a day to expose the "cruel" pressure of 10-minute delivery deadlines.

On Thursday, 15 January 2026, Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha released a comprehensive video documenting his experience working as a Blinkit delivery partner for a day.

The Aam Aadmi Party leader donned the signature yellow uniform and navigated the streets of Delhi to understand the physical and mental stress behind the “10-minute” delivery promise.

During the shift, workers revealed that the pressure to meet artificial deadlines often leads to reckless driving and high accident risks. Following the experience, Chadha has called for a nationwide ban on ultra-fast delivery models, describing them as “cruel” and “exploitative” systems that prioritise profit over human safety.

The 10-Minute Myth

The latest development in the ongoing debate over gig worker rights saw Raghav Chadha stepping away from his legislative duties to join the frontlines of the quick commerce industry.

This initiative was sparked by rising concerns that the “10-minute” delivery tagline is not merely a marketing gimmick but a dangerous mandate for riders.

By riding pillion and carrying out actual grocery deliveries, the MP was able to witness the frantic pace required to fulfill orders. He noted that the countdown timer creates a psychological burden that forces riders to ignore traffic rules and personal safety to avoid penalties or low ratings.

Pressure & Workplace Hazards

In the video shared on social media, several delivery executives opened up about the grim realities of their profession. One rider explained to Chadha that while the company officially claims there is no pressure, the reality of the algorithm and the branding on their uniforms tells a different story.

Workers spoke of the constant fear of accidents, noting that the pressure to shave off seconds often results in life-altering injuries. They highlighted that the cost of fuel, vehicle maintenance, and even medical expenses following road mishaps are almost entirely borne by the riders themselves, leaving them with very little take-home pay.

Payout Crisis

This field visit follows Chadha’s recent meeting with a delivery agent named Himanshu, whose viral video showed him earning a mere 763 rupees after an 18-hour shift.

During his day on the job, Chadha interacted with workers at “dark stores” who detailed how their earnings have stagnated despite the booming profits of parent companies.

Many delivery partners described themselves as the “invisible wheels” of the economy, providing essential services while lacking basic social security. They argued that the current model treats them as disposable assets rather than stakeholders, with no provision for health insurance or retirement benefits.

Legislative Push

Armed with these personal accounts, Raghav Chadha has intensified his campaign in Parliament to regulate the quick commerce sector. He argued that no democratic society should permit a business model that incentivises life-threatening speed for the sake of consumer convenience.

The MP has proposed a mandatory minimum payout per delivery and a complete ban on the 10-minute delivery model in its current form.

He also criticised the tendency of platform founders to dismiss worker grievances, stating that those who seek fair wages and safety are not “miscreants” but hardworking citizens demanding their constitutional right to a dignified life.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

At The Logical Indian, we believe that empathy is the most vital ingredient for meaningful social change. When a lawmaker chooses to experience the struggles of the common worker, it bridges the gap between policy and reality.

The obsession with “instant” gratification is carving a path of exploitation where the safety of our fellow human beings is traded for a few minutes of convenience. We believe in a society built on kindness and harmony, where every worker is treated with respect.
