His persistence eventually earned support from the Chief Minister’s Athlete Coaching and Empowerment Scheme (CM ACES) of the Arunachal Pradesh government, along with backing from the GoSports Foundation. These interventions proved instrumental in allowing Takar to focus entirely on his sporting ambitions.
Consistent International Success
The Brazil Para Badminton International is only the latest chapter in Takar’s steadily growing list of international achievements.
His breakthrough came at the Uganda Para Badminton International 2022, where he won a historic Silver medal in Men’s Singles (SL4), becoming the first para-athlete from Northeast India to represent the country on the international badminton stage.
In January 2026, he added another international medal by securing Bronze at the Egypt Para Badminton International after an impressive campaign.
Just a few months later, Takar scripted history at the Czechia Para Badminton International 2026, winning two Gold medals and one Bronze in one of the finest performances of his career.
Now, his Gold and Bronze medals in Brazil further underline his consistency against elite international competition and demonstrate that his earlier successes were no one-off achievements.
