No Excuse To Waste Food Now, Here Is An App To Donate Your Leftover Food

“Día Mundial De Alimentos”, or World Food Day as it is called in English has become a reason to celebrate together.

Today, the entire world is celebrating the World Food Day, and India is leading the charge with most cities seeing people of all age groups donating food from their houses, restaurants, hotels and corporates, either by themselves, or with Feeding India Hunger Heroes together.

What could be better than people coming together uniting for a cause in such times? More than anything else people are realizing the importance of the fundamental right to food and the joy of sharing it with people who don’t have enough.

Overwhelmed with the support and love people have expressed for sharing food, Feeding India has planned a surprise for the country. As a gift to India, 3 Goan Hunger Heroes, Aldrich Mascarenhas, Aaron de Miranda Colaço and Valindo Godinho, students of Padre Concenção College of Engineering have created a mobile application that makes food donation as easy as it sounds. Using the app, people can now connect with nearby hunger heroes and donate their leftover food, thereby making food donation easier and more regular instead of a one day activity.

The app titled “Feeding India will go a long way in making sure that excess food from households, restaurants, hotels and offices goes to feed hungry people instead of being thrown away finally mounting to our overloading landfills.

The “Feeding India” app is available on the android play store currently.
