Why should BMC impose one religion’s practice on everyone else?  4-Day Meat Ban in Mumbai Provokes Controversy.

Brihanmumbai Muncipal Corporation(BMC) has banned meat in Mumbai for four days during the Jain Fasting Season of Paryushan. The fast will be observed from 11 september to 18 september. BMC’s ban came after the BJP-ruled Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation imposed ban for eight days.

All the slaughter houses will be shut and sale of meat will be prohibited. The ban will not affect sale of chicken, fish and other sea food.BMC usually restricts slaughter and sale of meat for two days during Paryushan, this year ban is for four days- from 10 to 18th september.
