Abhinav Singh, a 32-year-old rapper from Odisha known as “Juggernaut,” allegedly died by suicide on February 9, 2025, in his Bengaluru apartment. His family claims that ongoing mental harassment from his wife and in-laws contributed to his distress.

The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, with no suicide note found at the scene, although a handwritten note allegedly left by Singh has been seized. His family has filed a complaint against multiple individuals, alleging mental torture that led to his tragic decision.

Tragic Death of Rising Star

Abhinav Singh was discovered dead in his rented apartment in Kadubeesanahalli, Bengaluru, just a week after relocating for work. According to police reports, he consumed poison after having dinner with a friend on the night of February 9. An empty poison bottle was found in his bedroom, which authorities believe he purchased online shortly before the incident.

Shivakumar Gunare, Deputy Commissioner of Police for Whitefield, confirmed that no suicide note was recovered from the apartment; however, Singh’s mother claims he left behind a handwritten note that has been taken into custody for examination. The family alleges that Singh’s wife and her family subjected him to severe mental harassment, which they believe drove him to take this drastic step.

Background of Allegations and Struggles

Singh’s family has lodged a formal complaint at the Lalbagh police station in Odisha against his wife and several others, accusing them of continuous mental torture. His mother, Vidyut Pradhan, stated that her son faced false allegations of dowry harassment and attempted murder last year, which led to his arrest. After being released on bail in September 2024, Singh reportedly endured ongoing threats and blackmail from his in-laws.

On the day of his death, after failing to reach him by phone, Vidyut asked a friend to check on him; the friend discovered Singh unconscious inside his apartment. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

The heartbreaking case of Abhinav Singh underscores the urgent need for societal awareness around mental health issues and the profound impact of domestic conflicts. Mental harassment can have devastating consequences on individuals’ well-being and should not be overlooked.

As a community, we must foster an environment where open dialogue about mental health is encouraged and support systems are established to help those in distress. How can we collectively work towards preventing such tragedies in our society?
