Electoral Mandate and Cabinet Formation

This oath ceremony follows the NDA’s emphatic electoral performance in the 2025 Bihar assembly polls in November, where the coalition secured a decisive mandate winning 202 seats out of 243. Within this, JD(U) bagged 85 seats, BJP secured 89, and other NDA allies like Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and HAM(S) also won representation.

The Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) were relegated to the opposition with significantly fewer seats. The new cabinet consists of 27 ministers including the CM and two deputy chief ministers.

This government formation signals a focus on governance continuity and political stability following a strong popular endorsement.

Highlighting transformative government schemes under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, including the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana empowering millions of women entrepreneurs with direct cash aid and business support; Bihar Skill Development Mission enhancing youth employability through training and industry linkages; the Student Credit Card scheme offering interest-free education loans widening access to higher education; and ambitious infrastructure projects targeting expressways, rail expansion, and Medicity health facilities.

These integrated initiatives aim to generate over one crore jobs, boost economic growth, reduce migration, and improve social welfare, marking a comprehensive development agenda for Bihar’s future beyond electoral wins and political alliances.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

Nitish Kumar’s 10th oath-taking as Chief Minister highlights Bihar’s complex political milieu characterised by pragmatism and coalition governance. While his prolonged stint underscores experience and stability, frequent realignments prompt questions over ideological consistency and public trust.

The Logical Indian advocates for leadership that embraces transparent, empathetic governance rooted in dialogue and social welfare. Bihar’s progress depends not only on electoral victories but on fostering genuine connection and accountability with its diverse electorate.
