In a significant push to expand access to emerging technology education, the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, signed a five-year MoU with Shri Khushal Das University in Hanumangarh on March 20, 2026.

The MoU was Signed by Dr Alok Tripathi, Director (Scheme/Skilling) and Chief Controller of Examinations,
NIELIT, and Dr Ramawatar Meena, Vice Chancellor, SKD University, at NIELIT Bhawan, Dwarka, with SKDU Director General Mr Girish Kumar present.

The agreement aims to bring nationally recognised programmes Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Science, Internet of Things (IoT), Computer Science, Engineering and Semiconductor Technologies to students in Rajasthan and nearby states.

Officials from both institutions said the collaboration will improve regional access to skill-based education, reduce the need for migration to metro cities, and strengthen industry-ready training through joint courses, research, and infrastructure development.

Comprehensive Programmes & Infrastructure

Under the MoU, SKDU and NIELIT will jointly deliver certification courses, Faculty Development Programmes, workshops, seminars, and training in Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Science, Internet of Things (IoT), Computer Science, Engineering and Semiconductor Technologies, aligned with national skill frameworks and industry standards.

NIELIT’s specialised curriculum on Cyber Forensics and Cyber Crime will be introduced for SKD University students on mutually agreed terms.

A Centre of Excellence with state-of-the-art laboratories on the SKDU campus will provide hands-on training beyond theory. Faculty will benefit from development programmes, while students gain internships, industrial exposure, collaborative research, co-publications, and innovation initiatives.

Joint participation in government-funded national and international projects is planned, overseen by a Joint Coordination Committee for implementation and reviews. New batches start soon.

Strategic Alliance for Local Access

NIELIT, an autonomous scientific society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), partners with SKDU, located at the confluence of Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana, drawing tri-state students.

This MoU advances SKDU’s national partnerships and reforms, proving that quality higher education need not stay in larger cities. As a Government of India body focused on formal and non-formal education in Information, Electronics, and Communications Technology, NIELIT brings its expertise to the region and is expected to strengthen SKDU’s NIRF standing.

Leaders’ Vision Unveiled

The MoU was signed by senior representatives of both institutions, who described it as a step towards strengthening local academic ecosystems. University officials stated that the initiative will introduce structured training, internships, and industry exposure for students.

Calling the MoU a turning point, Vice Chancellor Dr Ramawatar Meena said the partnership would bring NIELIT’s nationally recognised curriculum and government-backed programmes directly to students on campus.

Chairperson Varun Yadav described it as “a defining moment” and added, “This partnership reflects where SKD University is headed – toward national relevance and global readiness. Our students deserve the best, and we will ensure they get it.”

Managing Director Dinesh Juneja emphasised regional impact, stating, “Students from Rajasthan and nearby states no longer need to travel to metro cities for quality technology education. We are bringing that opportunity to their doorstep.”

They also highlighted that learners from Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana stand to benefit from improved access to advanced technology programmes. The collaboration will be overseen by a joint committee to ensure effective implementation and periodic review.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

This MoU shines as a beacon of inclusive progress, bridging urban-rural gaps with empathy and opportunity. By delivering cutting-edge skills in AI, cyber security, and data science right to Rajasthan’s doorstep, it empowers youth, fosters innovation, and nurtures harmony across communities.

Such collaborations reflect kindness in action, promoting coexistence through education that builds a brighter, equitable India. The Logical Indian celebrates this step toward positive social change, inspiring more institutions to follow suit.
