Youth Who Married The Girl He Raped, Sold Their Newborn Daughter For Rs 25,000

Is masquerading as being sympathetic towards the victim and a victim compromising with the perpetrator of the crime solves the issue of rape and molestation?

A shocking incident has come to light where a woman has accused that a man who raped her and later married her, sold her baby to a childless couple after she delivered the baby. She alleged that the man raped her in 2014 and under pressure from the elders, she compromised and married the accused.

The woman who is divorced now said that she wants her baby back and have requested that exemplary punishment should be given to the accused. As per The Times of India, the woman told that she met Shavez in 2013. He was a trader of embroidery work. While she was working as a zari artist, he would come to her house. He got into a physical relationship with her on the assurance of marriage. But once she got pregnant, he started threatening her of dire consequences if she dared to narrate her ordeal to anyone or approached police for help.

The society pressured her to marry Shavez. Even after the wedlock, Shavez divorced her and forced her to remarry a father of seven kids. He also sold their infant daughter to a childless couple for Rs.25,000. “The matter will be thoroughly investigated since the accusations by the rape survivor are serious”, says Deputy Inspector General Ashutosh Kumar.

The victim lodged an FIR at Premnagar police station, Bareilly in June last year under IPC’s Section 376(rape). She also said that she has been suffering since last three years and wants this ordeal to end. She also wants that Shavez and his family should be booked for torturing her. Ironically, an another incident happened in UP village where a brave teenager refused to marry her rapist defying stigmas and unnecessary social hoopla.
