Eight people, including a policeman, have died in Gujarat since Tuesday night in violence that erupted after one of their leaders Hardik Patel, 21, was detained for a brief moment. He led a massive rally in Ahmedabad for reservation in government jobs and colleges for the powerful Patels or Patidars.

Amidst riots and curfew, videos of police vandalising private property, using physical force against residents and making sexualised threats against women have come up.

Gujarat high court has ordered probe into police action. The Logical Indian condemns the act of the rioters and strict action must be taken against them but at the same time police is for controlling the damage not to damage private properties.
