Tamil Nadu: Tik Tok Helps Woman Reunite With Husband Who Was "Missing" For Three Years

In an interesting turn of events, a man who was ‘missing’ for three years was forced to return home, after his family spotted him in a Tik Tok video.

The Strange Turn Of Events

In 2016, Suresh, a native of Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri left his home for work and did not return. His wife Jayapradha filed a police complaint after his friends and relatives could not give any leads.

The ‘missing person’ case, however, remained unsolved until now. While police were unable to solve the case, the Tik Tok app came to the aid of this woman.

A relative of Jayapradha, recently, came across a Tik Tok video in which she saw a man, who looked similar to Suresh. In the video, there was a trans woman along with the man.

Upon being alerted, Jayapradha immediately recognised the man as her husband. She alerted officials at the Villupuram police station. Suresh was traced to Hosur with the help of trans person association in Villupuram.

Upon interrogation, Suresh revealed that he left home and fled to Hosur because he was unhappy with some developments. There, he settled down as a mechanic in a tractor company, and got into a relationship with a trans woman, reported News18.

The couple was counselled and sent home by police.

Although Google and App Inc removed the viral video sharing app after the ban from the Play store and App Store, respectively, the ban was later lifted. With the TikTok app coming up with endless, and sometimes dangerous challenges that often pose a threat to life, the decision to lift the ban was questioned by many.

However, while social media apps have faced a lot of flak for promoting everything from killer games to mental health issues, this time, Tik Tok indeed turned out to be a boon for a woman who has two kids and was searching for her husband.
