15-Yr-Old Accuses Thane Municipal Commissioner For Forcing Her To Give Him ‘Midnight Massages’

A 15-year-old girl from Thane, Mumbai, had alleged in a video widely shared in the area that municipal commissioner Sanjeev Jaiswal employed her in his bungalow and forced her to give him ‘midnight massages’, according to a report by Mumbai Mirror.

Activists in Thane are enraged meanwhile, the civic chief has claimed that the video is an attempt to malign him. His family claimed that the girl was employed in the house but was fired from the job as she used to steal and ‘spoil’ the bathroom.

When Thane activist Vikrant Karnik received the video, he approached the Thane police, accompanied by another activist, Unmesh Bagwe, and requested that a detailed enquiry be conducted. Karnik also alleged that Jaiswal ordered the demolition of the girl’s shanty after firing her.

“I don’t know about the demolition part, but if it [the girl’s shanty] was illegal, my officers might have demolished it. I am, however, not aware of it,” Jaiswal said.

“I had employed the girl after her parents approached me. She used to play with my kids and do small jobs — one can employ children above 14 years old. This video has been made to malign me. Do I need to tell you this? I have myself asked Thane Police Commissioner Parambir Singh to carry out a detailed inquiry into the matter, after which the matter is being handed over to Pradeep Sharma [head of Thane’s Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC)],” he continued, as per Mumbai Mirror.

Earlier in May, Jaiswal was making rounds in the news for thrashing an auto rickshaw driver in the presence of a crowd of at least 300. His bodyguards and a police officer also publicly thrashed the driver allegedly due to an encroachment drive to remove illegal hawkers and vendors.

The Logical Indian community is appalled by the allegations of the minor girl and we hope that probe metes out justice to the innocent.
