Hyderabad: Newly Elected Telangana MLAs Gift Themselves 2,400 Sq Ft Luxurious Apartments

Every MLA from Telangana will enjoy the perk of living in a 2,400 sq ft new and luxurious apartment in Hyderabad. A new building complex which comprises of 120 apartments has been erected at the MLA quarters in the city, reported Times Of India. Apart from this structure, another 12-storeyed servants quarters apartment complex has also been built. Yesterday, Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy went for an inspection of the same.

The luxurious apartments were constructed at a whopping cost of Rs 166 crore on 4.5-acre premises. Apart from the two structures, another commercial complex has been erected, which comprises a gym, shopping complex, and other necessities for legislators. Near around 45 additional apartments have been constructed for assembly staff.

The keys of the apartments will be given to the MLAs after appointing a committee. There are also existing MLAs’ apartment complexes near the new apartments. If any of the reelected MLAs opt to stay in their old quarters, then the apartments in the new building will be given to MLCs (Member of the Legislative Council).

All the apartment complex has an office room, a visitors’ space, a master bedroom along with two more bedrooms, a kitchen, a drawing room, and storage space. Residents of the apartments can also enjoy greenery outside by sitting on a sit-out area. Gas connection and a meter are attached to all the apartments. A Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) has been constructed at the place.

Twenty-three cabins have been constructed on the ground floor of the complex to meet any visitors downstairs. This is also likely to serve as a waiting room. The underground parking space has space for 240 vehicles.

Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that an appointment would be taken with Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for the inauguration of the complex. He has also planned to construct camp offices cum residences for MLAs in every constituency.
