After Vijay Mallya, Arms Dealer Who Possessed Confidential Defense Documents Suspected To Have Fled To London

Sanjay Bhandari, Arms Dealer and Defence consultant who has been under scanner by multiple investigating agencies, is said to have fled the country.

As per the government sources, Bhandari has reached London via Nepal to evade the look-out notice issued against him. Also, Earlier in June Bhandari was stopped from boarding British Airways flight to London.

Police sources have said that they have checked all the ports, and he hasn’t left for London through immigration channels.

Taj Hassan, Delhi Police Special CP was not available for comments, and there was no response from Home Ministry officials as reported by The Indian Express.

It is embarrassing for the government who is already being criticised for failing to extradite Vijay Mallya who also flew to London and acquired resident permit of United Kingdom.

The Delhi Police had registered a case against controversial arms dealer, and defence consultant Sanjay Bhandari in October in connection with the confidential documents of the Ministry of Defence recovered from his house in Defence Colony, New Delhi. The case was registered under sections 3 and 5 of the Official Secrets Act (OSA) on a complaint by a senior Defence Ministry official, Colonel Puneet Ahuja. The FIR also named Ashok Shankar, a close associate of Bhandari. They both were being probed by the Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax department for tax evasion.
