After RJD MLA Raj Ballabh Yadav, accused of raping a minor girl from Nalanda in Bihar, walked out of jail on bail by Patna High Court, the victim on Wednesday said that there is a threat to her and her family members’ lives. She has also questioned that how the accused got bail after the state government promised to stand by them.
Yadav had surrendered himself before a Nalanda court in March after absconding for a month following the crime he committed.
The girl from Bihar Sharif braved the trauma and appeared for her Matriculation examination a month after the incident and secured first division marks. She took to social media to express fear for her life and hoped chief minister Nitish Kumar would take some action.
“How did he get bail if the government is with us,” the victim asked the government in her message to the media.
Yadav was suspended from RJD after he reports surfaced of his rape allegations of February 13. Yadav was accused of raping the schoolgirl at his official residence-cum-party office in Nawada on February 6.
According to Hindustan Times, the FIR by the victim read that her her neighbour Sulekha Devi had taken her to an undisclosed location in Nalanda and forced her to have liquor, after which she was raped by a man, later identified as Yadav. After the rape, the woman allegedly offered her Rs 30,000.
