A 14-year-old boy, after being sexually abused and extorted for money for at least three years by his private tutor, was unable to continue succumbing to his abuser’s blackmail after his family fell into financial crisis. In retaliation, the abuser leaked videos of the boy being abused to his boy’s relatives. Some news sources say the number of years of abuse could have been as high as six years.

Soon, the police were alerted and a probe was initiated.

The incident happened in Ramganj, Jaipur. The paedophile, Mohammed Rameez, has been arrested by authorities after the boy’s parents filed an FIR at Ramganj police station.

Under interrogation, Rameez admitted to the crime, and confessed to similar crimes in the past ten years.

It has since been revealed that the paedophile teacher raped, abused, and blackmailed several school-going children. He would also extort them for money, blackmailing them with videos he would shoot of them being abused.

Authorities reportedly found over 50 pornograhic clippings shot by Rameez. The number of his victims continues to rise as more victims are coming forward. The number could be as high as 200.

Rameez was an English teacher in a private school, and also conducted tuition classes. The police are investigating as to why the school did not inform them about Rameez. The school has received complaints about Rameez’s behaviour in the past but refrained from approaching the authorities, choosing instead to merely to terminate his job last month.

The Logical Indian take

Despite several complaints from students, the school administration didn’t inform the police by simply asking Rameez to resign, risking lives of hundreds of other children.

This is yet another incident of abuse of our children. Additionally, it is also an example of complacency on the part of school authorities. Instead of handing the paedophile teacher to the police, he was merely fired – that too after receiving several complaints regarding him.

Another issue of concern is the fact that it was only after last week’s incident came to light that police could act on Rameez and arrest him. Following his arrest, many parents have reportedly complained against him, confessing that their children had also been his victims. There is a need for parents, if they realise that their child is being abused or blackmailed, to immediately report such behaviour to law enforcement officials so that such characters are immediately arrested and accordingly punished.
