Railway Tickets Worth Rs 5,000 Or More Booked Between November 16-24 Won't Be Refunded In Cash

As per the commercial circular issued by Railway Board on Tuesday, tickets worth Rs 5,000 and above booked between November 16 and 24 will not be refunded over the counter in cash. People who booked such tickets will have to file a TDR (Ticket Deposit Receipt) and get the refund through cheques or Electronic Clearing Service (ECS).

A TDR has to be filed within prescribed time limit for cancellation of ticket across the counter as per refund rules i.e., half an hour before schedule departure of the train for RAC and waitlisted tickets and up to four hours before departure for confirmed tickets, as reported by The Times Of India.

The passenger must show his PAN or Aadhaar card to the counter clerk and then the counter clerk will issue a ticket deposit receipt, which must be sent to the chief commercial manager for refunds along with the self attested copy of the Aadhaar card or PAN card and the details of bank account into which the refunds are to be made.
