Noida: 3-Yr-Old Girl Sexually Assaulted By School Bus Driver, School Allegedly Ignores Parents’ Complaint For 15 Days

The school bus driver sexually assaulted a three-year-old girl while he was dropping her back from school in Noida. According to NDTV, the girl studies in a private school in Sector 70. The parents alleged that the school administration did not take any action against the driver and was ignoring their complaint about the past few days.

The incident

The girl’s parents came to know about the incident earlier this month on October 9th, when their daughter returned from school looking terrified. Upon asking, she told her father that ‘driver Bhaiya’ had touched her inappropriately, as reported by DNA. The mother of the girl said in her complaint, “As soon as she got off the board and saw her father, the girl started crying and on being asked the reason she told her father that ‘driver Bhaiya’ had taken her undergarments off and touched her inappropriately.” She also added that the driver had made obscene comments. Later the mother talked to her daughter and recorded a video of her narration. The girl was so scared that she pleaded her mother not to make the video as the driver would beat her up if he got to know.

“She narrated her ordeal to me, and I recorded what she said. My daughter asked me not to record the video as the driver would beat her up if he comes to know that she had told anyone about the incident,” the mother said.

The school did not take adequate actions.

The parents immediately contacted the school principal and the class teacher to seek action on the matter. The girl was asked to identify the accused from four photos, where she picked out the miscreant. The school administration then assured the parents of strict action and inquiry along with FIR. However, in the following fifteen days, the school did not take any action and continued to ignore repeated appeals from the parents. The parents then filed a complaint on Thursday evening. A case was then registered against the accused under IPC section 376A and 376B (rape and related offences) along with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, as informed by Vineet Jaiswal, Superintendent of Police, Gautam Budh Nagar. He said, “We are looking into the matter and will arrest him soon. If the investigation reveals that the school was at fault, we will also take the necessary action against it,” as per the Hindustan Times report.

The police also informed that according to the school’s statement the driver had been expelled from duty and they are working with the school to get more information on the matter.
