Mansukh Mandaviya, Rajya Sabha MP Cycles To Parliament To Take Oath As A Minister

Mansukh Mandaviya, BJP Rajya Sabha Member and Arjun Meghwal, BJP Lok Sabha MP from Bikaner, cycled to our esteemed Rashtrapati Bhavan for their oath ceremony on Tuesday. They have been inducted as members in the new cabinet and the decision to cycle was in keeping with their efforts as members of the Climate Parliament Club.

The message they wanted to send out to our countrymen was that in a world ridden with various threats to environment this was the least they could do to chip in their bit towards conservation. This was particularly targetted at the rich and the VIPs in India so as to bring about a change in their mindset. For this purpose, the day of being sworn in as Ministers was the best day because it was special for the cabinet members.

Mandaviya’s residence is three km away from the Parliament and he cycled to cover the distance. It is to be noted that the residences of most of the Parliamentarians would be within cycling distance of the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Not only the duo, but also the twenty-two members of the Parliament Climate Club cycle to the Rajya Sabha at regular intervals. Thus, they walk their talk on climate conservation.

The Logical Indian team lauds Mansukh Mandaviya, Arjun Meghwal and others from the climate club who have set an example worth emulating in an era where moving in large cordons of vehicles is considered to be a status symbol by VIPs. We understand that their safety is important, but little sacrifices like these, if made by all, will make a huge impact on our climate control endeavours.
