UP: 15-Yr-Old Girl Brutally Murdered For Allegedly Resisting Molestation, Four Arrested

Uttar Pradesh witnessed yet another case of murder, when a 15-year-old school girl was killed and hung on a tree by three people in Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri district on October 2. As reported by News18, after attending Gandhi Jayanti function at her school, the victim was on her way back home when the three men pulled her to the nearby bushes and began molesting her, but when she resisted, the accused beat her brutally to death. Her body was later hanged on a tree to make it look a suicide. Four people have been arrested in connection with the case.

Two local girls, hearing the victim’s scream, informed her brother, who was working in a nearby field. He rushed towards the location immediately, where he found her body hanging. They beat the girl’s brother as well but were caught immediately by the villagers and handed over to the police.

What the Police has to say

Speaking to The Logical Indian, Circle Officer (CO) of Manipuri district, Rakesh Kumar Pandey said that the incident took place in Havelia Village when the girl was returning to her home and a minibus driver named Shivam along with two of his friends abducted her. As per the registered First Investigation Report (FIR) at Elaau Police station, Shivam, a resident of Rajalpur Village, which is located nearby, was a minibus driver in a school where the girl was studying.

He said that the according to the report which has been filed by her brother, almost six months ago, Shivam might have taunted the girl or brushed his vehicle past her. The infuriated girl had then slapped him, which humiliated Shivam. In his confession to the police, he accepted his crime. He further said that the incident was a humiliating one and a prime reason for the October 2 attack. Police have filed the case under Section 302 and Section 307 of Indian Penal Code and have sent the accused to jail. Villagers have also named, Rambir Pradhan, as the fourth culprit.

The 15-year-old’s life was lost and justice needs to be served. The Logical Indian community urges the authorities to investigate the matter.
