UP

A party needs 202 seats for a majority in the 403-member UP assembly.

Leading Party: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)

Previous Majority Party: Samajwadi Party (SP)

  • The BJP took the lead in 309 seats in UP.
  • This is a gain of 257 seats over its tally of 48 in the 2012 Assembly election.

UTTARAKHAND

A party needs 36 seats for a majority in the 70-member Uttarakhand assembly.

Leading Party: BJP

  • In the hill state of Uttarakhand, the BJP has established an unassailable lead, ahead in 54 of the state’s 70 sets.
  • If trends sustain, the party will get an absolute majority in the state. The Congress is leading only in 11 seats.

MANIPUR

A party needs 31 seats for a majority in the 60-member Manipur assembly.

Leading Party: Hung Assembly

Previous Majority Party: INC

  • The ruling Congress is leading in Manipur with 19 seats.
  • The BJP is in second place with 14 seats.

GOA

A party needs 21 seats for a majority in the 40-member Goa assembly.

Leading Party: INC

Previous Majority Party: BJP

  • The BJP and the Congress are almost equal in Goa.
  • Trends are available only for 23 of the state’s 40 seats.
