A 65-year-old man was killed on Wednesday when his two-wheeler was allegedly hit by a car in which Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia was travelling. The accident was reported at Puthiyakavu on the Kochi-Allapuzha stretch of a national highway. Mr Scindia immediately arranged for taking the victim to the hospital who eventually succumbed to his injuries.

Conveyed his devastation
Scindia had earlier tweeted about his feeling of devastation in the light of the accident, besides, it is also reported that the car he was travelling on was taken to the station by him voluntarily. He followed this with visiting the victims family. The victim was identified as Sasi.

As any loss of life or accident warrants consolation and condemnation if there was any wrongdoing, so did this. Despite the mishap, it is a welcome gesture by a senior politician to own up for the mishap besides meeting the family of the bereaved.

The Logical Indian wishes that the law take its own course and no one is above the law. If the driver of the car of Mr Scindia is found guilty, the police should not hesitate to act against the driver. At the mean time, we welcome actions of politicians who do not consider themselves above the law. We too often see politicians getting away with their inappropriate public behaviour, let us hope such gestures brings has a ripple effect across the political class in India.
