Pulkit Mishra, a Kathak dancer, has been arrested by Delhi Crime Branch, as he disguised himself as an Indian official to get facilities provided to prominent people.

Pulkit Mishra masqueraded as Director of Art in Ministry of Culture, sent a fax to District Magistrate and Superintendent of police of various cities to make arrangements for his stay and security, as reported by NDTV. The government of India filed a complaint against Mishra, accusing him of impersonation, said police.

Mishra’s deed came into light, when he wrote to District Magistrate of Sitapur(UP), informing about his visit to Sitapur’s temple and asked to arrange stay and security for him and his disciples, News 18.

Mishra was arrested from Sahibabad, Uttar Pradesh by Crime Branch on 28th August. His hearing was done in Patiala court and he was taken into remand for five days, said Joy Tirkey, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch), News18.

Pulkit Mishra, also known as Pulkit Maharaj is a prominent Kathak teacher and owns a dance Academy in Shalimar Garden, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. He also claims to be a spiritual leader of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In his interview to India TV, Mishra stated that he met Narendra Modi in 2006 when Modi was Chief Minister of Gujarat and predicted his Prime Ministership of India. He also bragged about his role in making Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of UP. He also published the name of Prime Minister on his wedding card.

Mishra also has pictures with the President, Prime Minister and many other prominent partisans. As covered by India Today, he has visited many countries for his dance shows and is in good terms with many ministers and bureaucrats. Former president Hamid Ansari attended Mishra’s wedding.

The Logical Indian Take

There are many videos on YouTube that show Pulkit Mishra as Pulkit Maharaj. Indian culture is built around the faith of respecting saints. Many people, to get luxury and popularity, have impersonated as a godman and spiritual leaders cheating people who believe and trust them. Some such prominent examples are Guru Ram Rahim, Asaram, Nirmal Baba and now Pulkit Maharaj. Thus, we request the government to pass a law to punish these self-proclaimed godmen, who dupe people.
