Kashmir: Mother Gets Her Step-Daughter Gang Raped, Eyes Gouged Out, Police Breaks Down Describing The Case

On September 4, the northern Baramulla district’s police revealed that a nine-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped and brutally killed in Jammu and Kashmir. The police said the five accused have been arrested including her step-mother and step-brother for allegedly being involved in the gangrape and murder of the minor. The in-charge officer, SSP Baramulla Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, breaks down while narrating the brutality of the crime.

According to the Scroll, on August 23, the minor girl was found to be missing from her home in Uri village, after which her father had filed a complaint with the police, told the Baramulla Superintendent of Police Imtiaz Hussain Mir.

On Sunday, the girl’s mutilated body was found in the nearby forest area. Initially, the police thought it is a case of murder, however soon a special investigation team (SIT) was appointed to investigate the case, added the police, reported The New Indian Express.

The nine-year-old was the father’s favourite child

The police further said that the father, who was married to two women, lived with his second wife most of the time. His first wife, Fehmeeda (35) was not happy about this. In fact, she believed her husband liked her second wife more and her 9-year-old daughter was her husband’s favourite child. Fehmeeda had a longstanding grudge against the second wife and the daughter.

According to the police statement, on August 24, the girl’s step-mother allegedly took her to the forest. The women took a knife and her 14-year-old son along with her. The other accused are her son’s friend, 19-year-old Kaiser Ahmad, and 28-year-old Naseer Ahmad.

All the four men, including two minors, mercilessly raped the girl in turns, after an insistence from the step-mother. The step-mother was present there when the incident happened, said the police.

“It was Kaiser who first raped her and then all others, including her step-brother, took turns to rape the girl,” said the police. “Thereafter the stepmother strangulated the girl and her stepbrother hit her head with an axe, killing her on spot,” reported The New Indian Express.

While leaving the crime scene, one of the accused gouged the victim’s eyes with a sharp knife and then sprinkled acid on her body parts. The girl’s body was later dumped by the two accused in the bushes and they covered it with branches to ensure that the murder remains shrouded in mystery. The police say physical condition and preliminary forensic analysis of the body substantiated all these facts.

‘Most horrific case’

A video has gone viral in which, SSP Baramulla, Imtiyaz Hussain Mir is seen breaking down as he narrates the gruesome act and the developments in the case.

While talking to the Quint he said, SHO Iqbal Ahmad proved to be on the right track when he based on some evidence suggested us to question Ganai’s first wife Fehmeeda.

As soon as we took her in our custody, the step-mother spilt the beans and identified all the characters, including two juveniles, who were involved in the case. We detained and interrogated them all.

Their revelations of their crime led to the recovery and seizure of weapons and articles used in the crime. All the material and weapons of offence, including the axe and the knife, have been recovered.

Background

The father had married two women, one from the local village and another from a village in Jharkhand (second wife). He has two sons who are 14 and 16 years old, and a daughter from his first wife.

From the second marriage in 2008-09, the girl’s father had daughters and a son, all of them under 10 years of age.

While the first wife, Fehmeeda, looked after the grazing of cattle in the local jungles, the second wife took over the responsibility of cooking meals and other domestic chores. Over the years, Fehmeeda began feeling that her husband shared more love and company with his younger wife and her three children.
