Fingers & Hands That Rise Against PM Modi, Will Be Chopped Off, Broken: BJP MP From Bihar

On November 20, Bihar BJP president and Lok Sabha MP from Ujiyarpur, Nityanand Rai said that the Modi government had overcome a lot of hurdles on its way to reach where it is today. Adding to this, he said that anyone who dares to point a finger or raise a hand at the Modi government, would have his finger chopped off and arm broken, reported The Indian Express.

A prominent Yadav leader from Vaishali, Rai became the Bihar BJP chief in December 2016 – he worked towards strengthening the hold of BJP in Bihar.

Rai talked of the struggles that PM Modi had to face as a child and the kind of adversity in which he spent his early years. The MP opined that it is always important to remember the stature from which he has risen to become the leader of the nation.

He said that PM Modi is a person whom everyone should revere and look up to and take pride in his achievement. “..Unki or uthne waali ungali ko, uthne waale haath ko…hum sub milke…ya to tod dein, zaroorat pari to kaat dein. (Any finger or hand raised against the PM, we should get together to either broken or, if need be, chop it off),” Rai said.

Speaking to The Indian Express, Rai, however, clarified, “I used the expression of breaking fingers and chopping hands as proverbs to convey that we would strongly deal with those who rise against the country’s pride and security. I meant country after I had finished talking about the PM’s inspiring journey.”

He clarified that his comment was not directed towards any individual or Opposition parties.

The Logical Indian Take

Such provoking statements are not new from the leaders of the ruling party. Recently, regarding the furore around the movie Padmavati, Suraj Pal Amu, Haryana BJP’s Chief Media Coordinator appreciated the Meerut youth who announced a Rs five crore bounty on the movie’s actor and director.

He promised Rs 10 crore to whoever completes the task and assured assistance to their family.

Issuing threats against the Opposition is no longer a new thing as political parties across the country have threatened the opposition or people with opposing views, with consequences at different points of time. West Bengal BJP Chief, Dilip Ghosh had claimed that through their RSS training, the BJP leaders are capable of breaking necks with their bare hands.

The Logical Indian community urges the political leaders to take responsibility and not speak before thinking about the consequences in a time when the slightest provocation leads to frenzy and violence in the country.
