Delhi Police averts another Nirbhaya like incident by its awareness and bravery. After a furious chase, the police managed to rescue the girl from the clutches of the perpetrators. The goons gave lift to the girl and his friend on the pretext of helping them but they had some depraved thoughts in their mind.

The girl’s friend gave a statement that this could have been another Nirbhaya in the capital region. According to news reports the girl and her friend were waiting for a bus in Buradi, situated in outer Delhi, late at night. A Santro car stopped by and offered help to them and considering that it was late at night, the two of them obliged.

As soon as the two of them got into the car, they knew that something was amiss. The girl’s friend tried to apprehend them but by then they snatched his mobile and threw him out of the car. The boy somehow managed to get on his feet and informed the police PCR van about the incident. After a long chase that went for the next 6kms, the police managed to get hold of the perpetrators and rescued the girl.

This incident reminds us of the 2012 Nirbhaya case when a girl and her friend were picked up in a similar fashion. The girl was brutally gang-raped and her friend too was nearly killed. Nirbhaya didn’t survive but her death ensured a mass protest and strict laws in such cases.

The Logical Indian appreciates quick thinking of the boy and prompt action by Delhi Police. Police usually don’t get the credits for what they do good, but they are the one who work hard late night patrolling in the streets while we sleep peacefully at home.
