In a shocking incident which surfaced from Haryana, a mahant or a chief priest of a Balaknath temple in Fatehabad was recently arrested by the police after he was accused of raping a woman, reports Deccan Chronicle

During the investigation of the case, Jogind Sharma, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) informed ANI, which they had a rough idea and background about the accused, Baba Amarpuri, and his ill-activities. Therefore, police, with all its force raided the temple and its surroundings. As a result, they confiscated many suspicious items along with several video clips of raping women. Later, they also found that these clips were already viral.

As NDTV has reported, the accused, Baba Amarpuri would rape women and record this heinous act and later on used them as a tool to blackmail them. The 60-year old accused has refused to accept all the accusations saying that he was being framed.

As per the police’s statement to ANI, the investigation regarding the case is still being carried out and the culprit, Baba Amarpuri, who belongs to Tohana town, has been sent to police remand for five days. Police are also tracking other people who may be involved in this disgraceful act. Police have also made a heartfelt request to the locals not to forward and circulate the viral videos.

THE LOGICAL INDIAN TAKE:

It seems India is not ready to lose its position in the list of top countries that are unsafe for women. This is not the first time that the country has seen such acts. Earlier, self-styled God-men have been accused of rape. The highlighted persons – Baba Ram Rahim and Asaram Bapu have been sentenced to some tough punishments.

India will never become a developed country if people run into such actions. To change this, we have to start from the root – change the mindset!
