Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) LVM-3, in its second commercial launch on March 26, placed 36 OneWeb satellites in orbit, completing the first-generation constellation enabling the UK-based company to initiate global coverage this year. A black kite was reported stuck in manja on a 65ft mobile tower, flapping its wings helplessly. The RESQ team reached the location and first located the bird with the help of a drone. Joint inspections by staff from the Forest Department and the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) have started identifying and rectifying sagging power lines in villages bordering forests in the Coimbatore district. The team has also been working on solutions like insulation with Wildlife Institute of India. The exercise got a thrust after a tusker got electrocuted from a powerline on private land bordering a forest in Poochiyur village on March 25. Yamuna River Pollution: Pink foam from toxic industrial waste was seen floating in the Yamuna river near Okhla Barrage in New Delhi on March 21. However, this is not the first time toxic foam has been spotted on the Yamuna river. Last year, just ahead of Chhath Puja in October, heavy foam was spotted on the river. The Delhi Jal Board then sprayed chemicals on the toxic foam to dissolve it.
