My Story: The Passengers Were Being Harassed, I Tweeted To Suresh Prabhu And Got Immediate Help

“Yesterday I was travelling along with my sister to Mumbai from Bhopal. When we saw that around 15 – 20 general passengers with a waiting ticket have acquired seats all around the coach from Delhi and because nobody else took action, they seemed pretty confident and the vibes were negative which already made us uncomfortable as soon as we boarded the train.

It wasn’t even an hour when I went to the washroom and during that time one of those men kind of leaned on my sister and misbehaved with her. To which she reacted and he just avoided it and went to a different coach. Being in such a situation, when the journey is overnight and you are alone with your sister, taking a fight with them would have been stupid but the action was required. Till then, nobody cared about what happened and I was pretty sure that they are going to make our journey miserable.

We started making calls and waited for some proper mobile network. As soon as we got the network, I asked my friends to tweet the problem to Ministry of Railways – India and Suresh Prabhu Sir.

Within Half an hour, Train stopped at Itarsi Station and few policemen along with their team came rushing to our coach and asked about the problem. They asked us to be fearless and tell them in front of everyone. All those passengers stayed quite as if nothing happened and that’s when we spotted the person who was guilty. We pointed at him and the police not only just took him, but also removed the other members from the seats they acquired in a flash. They took our details and ensured our safety till the journey was completed.

When everybody thought we were helpless youth, our government and security team ensured that we have all the support and help needed. It was a moment of pride and we felt secured throughout the journey.

We always read about these incidents on internet and newspapers but when first time we were caught in such a situation, I am proud that nobody let us down.
I hope these amazing services continue and we all live happily in this beautiful country.”

The Logical Indian community appreciates the alertness of Railway ministry and also hope that the Indian railway reaches to a new height in coming years.
