My Story: I Literally Broke Down Into Tears When He Hugged Me And Said – “Koi Apne Bete Se Chori Thodi Karega”

November the 5th the day I can never forget in my life.
I am not sure how am I suppose to put this incident into words, but I feel its worth sharing. A incident which has restored my faith into Rickshawala’s.

A usual Saturday morning, I was all set to leave Pune city but before leaving I was suppose to meet my cousin. So I hired a rickshaw from Wadia College. For the first time ever, To my surprise the Rickshawala didn’t asked for extra fare and he just put the meter ON. (For all those who don’t know Rickshawalas in Pune usually will ask for extra cash)

So, I kept my luggage on the seat and bag pack in the trunk and we were all set to go. I was busy with my phone and in no time we reached our destination.

As soon as we reached the destination, I asked him how much should I pay? He replied ” Jo meter pae dikh raha hai.”
Well, I couldn’t digest the fact that he didn’t asked for extra money. So I kindly said him ” I have been living in Pune since 7 years but no Rickshawala have ever taken be by meter, you are the first one”. He replied me “Thank you beta and left with a big smile on his face.”

Just when he left, I realised I had forgot my backpack in the trunk of rickshaw. I wasn’t able to think about anything at that very moment but as soon as I came to my senses I rushed to the nearest Rickshaw stand to check if he was there? But he was long gone.
For me My World was shattered. I couldn’t think of anything, but I had hope that he will come. He will come. He seemed liked a good person.

Later after waiting for half an hour, I went to the society watchman to tell him if in case a Rickshaw wala comes with a blue backpack just let me know.

While walking back towards to my cousins place, I was cursing myself for being so careless. Thinking about all the valueable stuff I had in my bag. Just at that very moment, Rickshaw wala showed up with a big smile on his face saying “bhaiya aap apna bag bhul gaye they.” I literally broke down into tears when he handed me my backpack. He then just hugged me and said “Tu toh betey jaisa hai? koi apne betey sae koi thodi chori kareyga.”
I had nothing to say at that moment. Tears were rolling off my eyes.

I offered him 100rs and he replied “Nai beta. Bas dua doh aap. paisa nai chaiye.” and he just left with a big smile on his face.

If God exists, its within you. Show your respect and kindness towards others as No act of kindness ever get wasted. “Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver.”

I hope this message reaches to you sir. Restoring faith in the hearts of many of us and humanity. Hats off to you sir. A face I will never forgot. A experience I will never forget.

From the bottom of my heart “Thank you again sir.”

“Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end.”
