It was my birthday on 19th this month. I intended to put a smile on others’ faces rather than wasting my money on a party. If you feel it’s a good deed and others should follow suit, you can share this. So here’s the story of my 25th birthday:
Hello friends! A simple thank you would surely be not enough for the pleasant and heart-warming wishes and blessings of you all… So, I decided to make my birthday a “happy” day for one and all. Thank you so much, Priya for that compilation of video messages and that pizza surprise. Thank you Pappa for that hand-made strikingly attractive piece of art. Besides, the cards and cakes brought by my fellow PGs, the painful birthday bumps and a wonderful party, here’s what I did for my birthday.
Luther Park reborn:
This is a small park in the vicinity of our college. Wildly grown weeds and creepers, dead and dried bushes, thorny shrubs and a lot of plastic, broken glass and garbage was dumped here. Disdained and neglected, it wore a shabby, saddening and haunted look. I noticed this whenever I passed by it. So, I decided a few days before that I should rejuvenate this place.
After the affirmative response from the Church who owns this place, with the help of a gardener, some energetic school boys, a few optometrist friends and a couple of locals and lent equipment, we began on Saturday and completed along with the plantation of 16 saplings on Monday, 19th.
So, here’s the transformation. Hope, this puts a smile on your face.
Thank you, once again.
