My Story: My Teacher Had Called My Parents To Talk About How Different I Was From Other Classmates

“I was very different from other friends in school. My teacher had called my parents to talk about how different I was from other classmates. This could also be as I used to be very bold and could never just keep silent when wrong things are happening around me. There was a friend who used feel so nervous and scared all the time. One of our teacher used to look at her inappropriately and I decided to stare at him just like he did to my friend. He got so annoyed and complained to our principal. I wonder what goes in the minds of these people who actually are there to teach us, apparently they are the trusted ones but some of them end up breaking the faith in humanity.

Children are considered as easily manipulative ones and so we see so much of child sexual abuse around us. It is very important that parents and schools start educating kids by openly talking about the good touch, bad touch and so on. I am glad that Mumbai police has initiated police didi program where they talk about child safety education.

People shy to talk about sex education which results into lack of knowledge for youngsters and when they grow up some people have no idea of the term consent and many other things. I came across an incident through a friend where I was so disheartened to learn about the number of child sexual abuses happening around us. The fact is people prefer to stay mum and just turn their backs to such serious issues.

I remember once while working on the sets, we had a woman who spoke about her own personal experience. Words can’t explain the pain of the abuse that so many women and girls go through. Such incidents completely breaks a person-especially a child and nothing can be more shattering. If parents come forward and openly talk about everything then we can definitely save kids from such abuse.”
