On a request from a fan Harsha Bhogle met a courageous American lady Kia Scherr who lost her husband and daughter to the Mumbai attack on 26/11. The job done by Mumbai police during the attack was commendable and this inspired Kia to come to India and work with Mumbai police. This is what Harsha Bhogle has to say about the lady:

“Sometimes cricket brings you into contact with the most remarkable people. This morning I met an American lady who knew very little about cricket. Kia Scherr had lost her husband and daughter to the heinous Mumbai attacks on 26/11. Rather than sit back and bemoan her fate, she decided to return to India and work with the Mumbai police, to help train them and spread cheer and happiness and a smile. Her One Life Foundation is seeking to bond more with the Mumbai police and other police forces around India to “restore balance, to deepen commitment to love unconditionally” because, as she says “love was brutally lacking in the terrorist attack”.

Kia and a group of expat cricket lovers mainly from Australia and England played a cricket match against the Mumbai police today which they hope will help bridges with the police and in course of time, use cricket to spread the message of peace.

Kia seems like a bundle of positive energy. She could easily have been the opposite.”
