My Story: I Was Called Characterless But That Did Not Stop Me From Fulfilling My Mother’s Dream

Supported by

“I lost my mother when I was 15. My father is not educated but my mother was. She wanted me to be a successful educated woman like her but my relatives didn’t want that. Soon after my mother’s death, I faced a lot of issues financially and personally but I didn’t give up. I know my mother wouldn’t want me to. After my intermediate, I got job in company and continued my studies at the same time.

I had to bear my education expenses because my father thought I didn’t need to study. It meant I had a 9 to 5 job and classes from 6 to 9 while taking care of my younger brother as I didn’t want him growing up without motherly care. I faced a lot of criticism.

I was called characterless and many other names but I was determined to fulfill my mother’s dream. I am now about to complete my Masters, doing a job in IBA and financially support my father too. Those girls who think they are not strong enough to stand up for their rights, I want to tell them you can do anything you set your mind on. When I lost my mother I felt like my world had ended but today I strongly believe that it’s my mother blessings that keep me going and am confident that I have made her proud!”
