Defence Analyst Maj Gen DC Katoch (Retd) has revealed alarming details about the arrest of doctors and professionals across India, who are believed to be part of a sprawling “White Coat Terror Nexus” linked to the terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).

This network is accused of plotting coordinated blasts across the country, targeting the period up to January 26, 2026, coinciding with the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The conspiracy aims to destabilise India through a well-orchestrated and large-scale terror campaign, confirmed as a “classic regime change operation” with clear geopolitical motives.

Authorities describe the arrests and disruption of this network as one of India’s most significant counter-intelligence successes in recent years, underscoring the government’s commitment to a decisive response against terror elements.

White Coat Terror Nexus: An Insidious Threat

The term “White Coat Terror Nexus” was coined to describe how doctors and educated professionals, traditionally trusted for their roles in society, have been radicalised and co-opted into the service of terror.

Maj Gen Katoch identified that the network comprises sleeper cells embedded in multiple states, which have operated covertly for years.

These individuals are said to have undergone training abroad and maintain encrypted communication channels that allow coordination across India and with handlers abroad, especially in Pakistan.

One of the most significant findings involves the arrest of doctors from locations such as Faridabad and Saharanpur, where authorities seized over 350 kilograms of explosives, AK-47 rifles, and provisions indicating planned attacks on critical national infrastructure.

These professionals exploited their medical credentials to mask their activities, which also included the trafficking of explosives and the recruitment of operatives to establish a women’s wing for terror operations.

The network’s intent to execute multiple blasts across major cities reveals the scale and seriousness of the threat.

Background and Investigation

This terror module was exposed after investigations into a blast near Delhi’s Red Fort raised suspicion of an organised network using “white-collar” operatives.

The Jammu & Kashmir Police, alongside the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Delhi Police, launched coordinated raids and interrogations that dismantled several parts of this terror module.

The arrested suspects are linked with Jaish-e-Mohammed, known for its ties to Pakistan’s military and intelligence agencies.

Investigations reveal that the network was motivated by revenge for India’s Operation Sindoor, which successfully dealt heavy blows to terror infrastructure in the Kashmir region. It appears that Pakistan, emboldened by its evolving relationship with the United States, supported these terror attempts to reassert its influence and destabilise India.

The plan included attacks timed during important national events, such as Republic Day celebrations, maximizing the potential for disruption and psychological impact.

The government has classified this plot as an act of war, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi assuring that the response will be measured but uncompromising.

Geopolitical and Security Challenges

The existence of a terror module using reputed professionals highlights a disturbing new facet of national security threats-where trusted community members infiltrate key sectors to plan violence.

This “white-collar” terror approach reflects evolving tactics of terror groups that exploit institutional credibility to evade suspicion. This trend complicates counter-terrorism efforts and necessitates enhanced vigilance within internal security protocols.

The international dimension of the conspiracy is evident, with handlers operating from Pakistan and financial channels routed through Malaysia.

The Recovery of explosive materials and the network’s operational spread across multiple states further reflect the expansive logistics involved.

These developments have prompted a vigorous intensification of intelligence and law enforcement collaboration within India to thwart further attempts.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

The revelation of a “White Coat Terror Nexus” operating under the guise of medical professionals poses a significant challenge to societal trust and security.

While the government must continue to act decisively to neutralise such threats, it is equally crucial to avoid fostering suspicion within respected professions that form the backbone of society’s welfare.

The Logical Indian stands committed to promoting peace, understanding, and coexistence, calling for vigilance without paranoia.

In confronting extremism, society must balance security imperatives with empathy and constructive dialogue to prevent communal tensions and protect social cohesion.

Our shared values of kindness and harmony must guide responses to maintain a united and resilient India.
