Raghav Chadha turns Blinkit delivery rider for a day purportedly to highlight the systemic exploitation within the gig economy.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha surprised social media by sharing a teaser video of himself working as a Blinkit delivery rider on Monday, 12 January 2026.

The Rajya Sabha member was seen donning the signature yellow jacket and uniform to experience the daily struggles of delivery executives firsthand.

This move follows his recent parliamentary campaign to ban “exploitative” 10 minute delivery models that he claims compromise worker safety for the sake of consumer convenience.

While the teaser has sparked intense debate regarding the ethics of quick commerce, Chadha has promised to release a full account of his findings soon.

Raghav Chadha Turns Blinkit Rider

The video posted on X shows the transition of the young politician as he swaps his formal attire for a Blinkit T-shirt and jacket. In the clip, Raghav Chadha is seen receiving a delivery bag from an actual rider and navigating the traffic as a pillion passenger to complete real time orders.

He captioned the post with a poignant message stating that he lived their day away from the comfort of boardrooms and legislative offices. This initiative is part of his ongoing “Stay Tuned” series, which aims to bring to light the ground realities of various professions within India’s unorganised sector.

Gig Workers’ Condition

This immersive experience is not just a social media stunt; it is deeply rooted in Chadha’s recent advocacy for the gig workforce. During the Winter Session of Parliament, he made headlines by demanding a ban on the 10 minute delivery system.

He labelled the model as “cruel” and “inhumane,” arguing that it forces young riders to drive recklessly to meet impossible deadlines.

By stepping into the field, Chadha intends to gather anecdotal evidence to support his legislative push for better social security and safer working conditions for the millions of people employed in India’s booming quick commerce industry.

The Invisible Workforce

Chadha’s engagement with gig workers began in earnest last month when he invited a delivery executive named Himanshu for lunch at his home. Himanshu had gone viral after showing his meagre earnings of 763 rupees for 15 hours of work.

Chadha used that platform to highlight how delivery partners are the “invisible wheels” of the economy but lack basic benefits like health insurance or a fixed minimum wage. During his day as a rider, he interacted with fellow delivery staff at “dark stores” to understand the pressure of the clock and the physical toll of the job.

The 10-Minute Convenience

The teaser has reignited a nationwide conversation about the ethical cost of instant gratification. While quick commerce platforms like Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart have revolutionised urban living, critics argue the growth is built on a foundation of low wages and high risk.

Chadha’s video concludes with a “stay tuned” message, suggesting that the full documentary will expose the systematic gaps in the current gig economy framework.

The MP’s move has been met with both curiosity and praise, as it marks a rare instance of a high profile lawmaker engaging in participatory research to influence public policy.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

At The Logical Indian, we believe that empathy is the cornerstone of effective leadership. When our representatives leave their ivory towers to walk in the shoes of the common citizen, it creates a bridge for authentic dialogue and meaningful change.

The gig economy is a vital part of India’s future, but it must be built on the principles of kindness, safety, and fair compensation. We shouldn’t let our desire for speed overshadow the dignity of the person bringing the package to our door.
