Patna Police sealed a hotel named ‘Hidden Villa’ located at RPS More in the Rupaspur area after a female student was allegedly tried to abduct inside her room by a man.

The victim, a native of Begusarai, had come to the city with her father to appear for a polytechnic examination. Late on Friday night, a man, identified as Satyendra, barged into their room and attempted to assault the student as per reports. When her father intervened and began filming the act, the accused fled. Following a swift distress call to Dial 112, the police arrived within minutes, arrested the primary accused, and subsequently sealed the premises. Meanwhile, the hotel manager and another suspect remain at large.

The Midnight Assault and Police Action

Offering crucial insights into the terrifying incident, City SP (Western) Bhanu Pratap Singh stated that the father and daughter were staying in room number 103 when the employee broke in around 12:48 AM.

“The man entered the room and tried to forcefully pull the student. The father woke up, resisted the attack, and started recording a video on his mobile phone, which prompted the attacker to flee,” the official added. Police forces arrived at the scene by 1:15 AM. A subsequent search of the hotel led to the recovery of alcohol bottles and aphrodisiacs, hinting at broader illegal activities on the premises. Rupaspur Police Station In-charge Shashi Bhushan Singh confirmed that Case No. 378/26 has been registered, and strict action will be taken against anyone else found complicit.

Uncovering an Unlicensed Establishment

Investigating officials revealed startling lapses in the hotel’s operations and security protocols. Despite being located barely half a kilometer away from the Rupaspur police station, ‘Hidden Villa’ was operating without an official safety and security audit and was completely unlisted in the local police registry.

Furthermore, while the hotel was equipped with closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, they were deliberately switched off on the night of the incident. Law enforcement officials noted that the cameras were deactivated as part of a pre-planned conspiracy to destroy evidence. The raid also revealed that several young men and two women from West Bengal were staying at the hotel, where an illegal liquor party was reportedly underway at the time of the assault.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

This harrowing incident highlights a critical collapse of safety and accountability within commercial lodging spaces, which should inherently serve as sanctuaries for travellers.

It is deeply disturbing that an educational pursuit for a young student was disrupted by such a traumatic violation. The deliberate disabling of CCTV cameras and the presence of contraband point to a systemic failure and potential complicity that extends beyond a single employee. True women’s empowerment cannot be achieved until we foster an ecosystem rooted in strict institutional accountability, empathy, and absolute safety in public and private spaces. As a society, we must demand stringent regulatory oversight for hospitality businesses to prevent such safe havens from turning into hubs of crime.
